Biostatistical reasoning and modeling were of critical importance to the foundation theories of modern biology. The science of biostatistics encompasses the design of biological experiments, especially in medicine and agriculture in addition to the collection, summarization, and analysis of data from those experiments following through to the interpretation of the results. Biostatistics is Charles J. Kocian’s area of expertise, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. His previous work experience includes the Office of the Surgeon General-U.S. Army Civilian (1965-1976), Supervisory Statistician-Rural Electrification Administration-U.S. Department of Agriculture (1963-1965), Military Sea Transportation Service-U.S. Army Civilian (1961-1963) and the United Mine Workers Welfare and Retirement Fund (1950-1961). He is also a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Kocian received the Outstanding Intellectual of the 21st Century Award. He has had published works on World War II including Medical Statistics in WWII and Neuro-Psychiatry in WWII.
Presently, Mr. Kocian is the owner of International Pyrotechnics Apparatus Inc. The company is a Distributor and Exporter of Fire-Fighting Apparatus including fire engines, ambulances, pump trucks and special gear. Having knowledge of his background it isn’t surprising that Mr. Kocian would have a business centered on the protection and empowerment of the Bravest profession.
Mr. Kocian received Post-Graduate Degrees from American University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Insitute, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Lycoming College, and is still a renowned alumnus from these institutions. He is a member of the American Humanitarian Foundation, British Embassy Society, Canadian Embassy Society and the Australian Embassy Society. Amidst all the serious dedication he has for his company in his spare time he is actively involved in philanthropic pursuits.

Bringing children forward, is at the forefront of Dr. Coffey’s purpose in her position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Kennesaw State University. KSU is located just northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County near historic Kennesaw Mountain. The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education is committed to excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship. The department collaborates with university colleagues, local school districts, community agencies and partners, as well as accrediting agencies in its efforts for the preparation of professionals (undergraduate and graduate) to work with children and youth in the 21st century. The primary mission of the department is to prepare educators to facilitate learning of multiple content using pedagogies developmentally appropriate for early childhood (pre-kindergarten through grade five) general education and life-span special education (mild disabilities). Through a collaborative integrative approach, the department prepares individuals to function professionally in multiple settings in general education (P-5) and life-span special education within the context of a multicultural, pluralistic, and technological society. The department stands as a steeple of excellence to serve the university, community, and Northwest Georgia through P-16 community service and scholarship.
An outline of the Kennesaw Mountain is a smart the logo for this University. Mountains are symbolic of the yearning for challenge which is only surpassed by the sense of accomplishment when one has climbed that mountain. “Yearning helps you become someone new,” says novelist Zadie Smith. As to Dr. Coffey’s own learning, she has a Doctorate in Language Literacy and English as a Second Language from The University of Tennessee, a Master’s Degree in Child and Family Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics with a Minor in Curriculum Instruction and Child Development. In additon, she credits her parents for mentoring her, which she feels has been an important contributor to her success.
Dr. Coffey is also effective in the publishing world. She is an Editor in Chief for two online journals entitled Taking Teaching & Learning Seriously and The Facilitator. She is also the author of Unlocking the Power of Language Research Based Strategies for Literacy Development.
At home, Dr. Coffey is the wife to James Coffey and mother to Ruby J. Brock. She enjoys being on the move in that some of her favorite pastimes are hiking, skating, volleyball, and traveling. Then again she is also happy sitting in a comfy chair with a good book to read.

Not many at first thought would perceive a warrior mentality to be among the fundamental traits of a doctor. Doctors and warriors are at variance by definition. Yet we all have our battles, and doctors have their noble war against illness and disease. Dr. Claes von Segebaden is a veteran of this war. He takes on the battle in his clinic, CentrumKliniken, in Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Claes von Segebaden focuses particularly on the study of lung function. He perseveres to keep the pathways to his patients’ lungs clear of impediments such as asthma and allergies.
Dr. von Segebaden earned his medical degree from the Karolinska Institute, which is celebrating its bicentennial this year. This school is known for providing the widest range of medical study in Sweden, and it conducts more than forty percent of the country’s medical research.
At home the doctor is husband to Ingred Mahlen. They married in 1970. He also enjoys all genres of music, and he plays the banjo. He may have picked up his musical talent from his mother, the famed Swedish actress, dancer and chess player, Annalisa Ericson. As for his warrior nature, he may have picked up from his father Lieutenant Uno von Segebaden.

In simple terms Pathology is the science or the study of the origin, nature, and course of diseases. Dr. Siew is known as the ‘Mother of Pathology’ by some. Those fortunate to be a student of hers don’t just sit passively awestruck in a classroom. Dr. Siew has a reputation for rigorous expectations of her students, and they graduate fortified with a strong background in pathology owing to their experience with Professor Siew. The professor’s own background is a strong and interesting one, built on a foundation of sixty years of experience in the fields of pathology and medical services, encompassing teaching and research.
In her youth she was a refugee from Russia and she settled in South Africa. In this youth Dr. Siew was fascinated by the electron microscope, which was still in its infancy. Her interest inspired her to become adroit at this technology. She went on to study at the University of the Witwatersrand, in South Africa and she earned her M.D. and Ph.D. here. Dr. Siew was one of the pioneers of the South African Society of Pathologists, when glimmers of her influence on the practice of laboratory medicine were beginning to be seen. At the time of this society’s formation there was only one pathology discipline on the registry of specialties of the South African Medical and Dental Council so SASP was called upon to represent laboratory-based professionals on a wide spectrum of issues. The initial objectives of the society were to “advance pathology and to facilitate contact between those interested in pathology and related subjects”.
Some years later Dr. Siew took the position of Professor at Michigan State University where she taught integrated clinical science in systems courses in cardiology and pathology for over 20 years. She has received 64 teaching awards including the “Distinguished Faculty Award” from the Michigan State College of Human Medicine in 1988. She has written 90 articles and three book chapters. Dr. Siew is a Fellow with The American College of Cardiology and a member of The American Medical Association. She received two Gold Medals from the A.M.A. and she considers this achievement one of, if not the, most outstanding.
Even Dr. Siew’s avocational exploits are impressive and inspiring. She is a private pilot, another way to illustrate the limitlessness to her horizon. She grounds herself and expands her mind by reading scientific journals, histories, biographies, and good detective stories.

Let’s consider Tripoli for a moment. From the earliest times Tripoli in North Lebanon was an unusual city due to its configuration for it was not one city but ” three cities in one”, hence its name Tripoli or the “Tri-city”. That’s as straightforward a way to name a place as you can get. Now let’s consider Rudolph Jabbour, who throughout his career has proven to be the epitome of efficient straightforwardness. He is Chairman and Director of Personnel at University of Balamand located in Tripoli, Lebanon. A university faculty member Mr. Jabbour had worked with said of him, “Any time I have any question related to academic and non-academic affairs, research, personnel, exams, holidays, leaves, office furniture, computers, I find myself calling Mr. Jabbour’s extension and invariably I get immediately an answer to my questions and intriguing situations or he would call back within few minutes with the right answer. The wonderful thing about him is that he is there to help you in any way possible.” Here is another mention of praise from another he worked with at the university, “Such service, is not only exemplary, but also extremely rare to come by, and should not go without proper acknowledgment.” And here’s one more, in keeping with the ‘three’ theme, “He permanently manifests a willingness to help, and demonstrates an amazing problem solving ability; we literally became addicted to Rudy’s help”.
The University of Balamand, greatly benefits from Mr. Jabbour’s experience and productivity. This University is relatively young; it was founded in 1988 as a private secular institution to serve all people without regard to race, religion, gender, and ethnic consideration. The number three appears again in that this university has three campuses, the main campus, the campus of the Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts (ALBA), and the Achrafieh campus, where Health Sciences courses are given.
Rudolph Jabbour’s forte is in the study of the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences, yet he doesn’t let that limit him. He goes where he needs to, in order to find an answer. In his position of Director of Personnel he is adept at overseeing all matters related to HR and Personnel Issues.
As for his personal issues, he has a well-balanced home life. He married Nouha Salim Fawaz in 1967 and they have two children, Hiba and Abeer Jabbour. Mr. Jabbour, in addition to spending time with his family, fills his downtime with reading and music.
Rudolph Jabbour can be found on the Madison Who’s Who Directory, where he is looking forward to networking with you.

Let us now alight on a high plateau that’s partitioned from the sea by towering green mountains. We are in Caracas, Venezuela, fast-paced and cosmopolitan, this progressive city has over four centuries of history buried beneath its glass-and-concrete monuments that rise out of masses of low-rise buildings like bars on a graph. This city’s sea is of interest to us, this is because the sea is of interest to Luis Vicente Garcia Giliberti who is Chief Financial Officer of Venezuela’s largest maritime company, Almacenadora Braperca. Mr. Giliberti started in 2003 with the company as the Financial Manager and in 2005 was named its Chief Financial Officer. He is in charge of managing the areas of administration, treasury, financing, taxes, accounting and planning, as well as all matters relating to IT, Human Resources, Legal, and Internal and External Auditors. Mr. Giliberti’s ability to articulate his company’s policies and his amiable nature has made him a natural ambassador and as such he has appeared before foreign Shipping Lines, government agencies, and professional and commercial associations, for instance the local Chambers of Commerce in the places the company manages its terminals. He holds the purse strings and so is in charge of purchasing. As a member of the Executive Committee, Mr. Garcia supervises Financial and Strategic forecasts, fiscal and financial planning and participates in the making of policies and procedures of the different departments of the companies.
On coming to his position at Almacenadora Braperca, Luis Vicente Garcia Giliberti brought the experience of his time as Vice-President of Finance of EVENPRO and as Financial Manager for Water Brother Inc’s (Miami, FL) entertainment operations in Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Panama and served as the Financial Manager of Corimon, a paint and chemicals company. In addition, Mr. Giliberti co-founded Chipi’s Burger in 1993, a casual fast food (grilled hamburgers) franchise chain in Venezuela. He expertly led the development efforts of the company and promoted Chipis Burger’s expansion program through franchised and company owned stores. Having developed and implemented Chipi’s Burger’s Franchise Commercialization Program, Mr. Giliberti is an expert in the area of franchising, as he also co-founded Solofranquicias de Venezuela, Venezuela’s first franchise information com. He served as an External Director during 2001 and then as the Chairman of the Board until 2003 for this company. But in the beginning there was Venezolana de Cementos, VENCEMOS, where he worked for eight years, starting as a Treasury Official in 1986 and working his way up to the Financial Planning Manager of the company. Mr. Giliberti is a constant student and has earned: a Master’s Degree in, Service Enterprise Management from the Universidad Metropolitana, Caracas, Venezuela (2008); M.B.A. in Finance from The American University, Washington, DC (1986); B.A. in Economics with a minor in Computer Science from Georgetown University, Washington DC (1984); and he has taken over 60 courses and seminars in the USA, England, Mexico and Venezuela.
His familiarity with numbers is matched by his familiarity with words. Mr. Giliberti is a gifted author and lecturer. He has authored over forty articles, wrote a book on Franchising entitled A Brief Introduction to Franchising (published mid 2009), and frequently speaks on subjects related to finance, businesses opportunities and franchising in Venezuela. He is fluent in both Spanish and English with knowledge of Italian. Mr. Giliberti served as a professor at Continuous Learning Department of Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, teaching the areas of “managing the enterprise” and “finance and marketing” in the University’s Franchising Executive Program.
A man of such dedication to his work is balanced by a devotion to his home. Mr. Giliberti has been married to Virginia since 1992. Virginia is a lawyer as well as a successful entrepreneur. They have two incredible children. He is an avid baseball fan and enjoys collecting memorabilia.

On the sheltered eastern shores of Vancouver Island, there is a village with a profusion of spring and summer flowers that is home to artists and artisans. The area has five golf courses that offer breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains or both, and challenge all golfers. Generally speaking, nearly every sport, recreation and cultural activity is available in Qualicum Beach through a combination of efforts by the Town of Qualicum Beach, Regional District of Nanaimo, community organizations, major service institutions and private businesses. One such private business was owned by Geraldine L. Adair. As owner and broker of Remax Anchor Realty she helped many make a happy home and/or business in the area for over fifteen years. In fact she helped earn the present Remax Anchor Realty Slogan: “A trusted name in Oceanside Communities’ Real Estate for over 15 years”.
For those who don’t know, a real estate broker is a real estate agent that has accumulated sufficient experience to obtain a license to operate a real estate brokerage and to supervise to work of other real estate agents. Like the real estate salesperson, the real estate broker is licensed at the state level. It takes a special real estate agent to get to the level of broker for most real estate agents don’t reach this level.
With Ms. Adair at the helm, Remax Anchor Realty, she guided the business to success and at present it is a firm with eighteen Real Estate Associates. Ms. Adair provided the warmest of welcomes to residents, business owners, and visitors seeking a relaxed pace and small town ambiance that is convenient to theater and culture as well as outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and caving.
A woman having the sort of entrepreneurial spirit that Ms. Adair has, would accumulate many accolades in her career, and she has. Chief among her victories is her Lifetime Achievement Award from Remax in addition to her being their Woman of the Year in 2004.
Ms. Adair has fulfillment in her personal life. She has three daughters: Pam, Brenda, Beverly; 9 Grandchildren; and 2 Great Grandchildren. It isn’t surprising that two of her pastimes are photography and gardening living in among the beauty that surrounds her.

It isn’t a hyperbolic metaphor to say that roads are arteries. Roads conduct an essential flow of people and commerce, the life’s blood of civilization. Roads are so important they are usually taken for granted until one is detoured. Ismail Essa doesn’t take roads for granted. He is the Head of the Northern Region of South African National Road Agency, SANRAL. The Northern Region contains the four provinces of: Gauteng, Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga. SANRAL has a distinct mandate – to finance, improve, manage and maintain the national road network. SANRAL introduced and consolidated the concept of Public Private Partnerships that culminated in the internationally acclaimed Maputo Development Corridor. One of Mr. Essa’s projects for SANRAL’s Northern Region has been the addition of one lane each way on the Ben Schoeman Highway between Pretoria and Johannesburg. The extra lanes will be high-occupancy vehicle lanes, reserved for vehicles carrying three or more people. Owing to space constraints inhibiting expansion, all the lanes on this highway will become narrower than what is currently the case.
At his core Ismail Essa specializes in Road Design. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Civil Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration. The later degree has guided his expertise in leadership and organization.
At home, Mr. Essa has a wife and three children and he enjoys the quality family time he spends with them. He also likes to devote time to other of his interests. Reading gives him a calm focus. Photography gives him a more tactile focus. For a more dynamic focus, he turns to a soccer game.

Who is Vincent Hachez? He is the Managing Director for AMI Middle East LLC which is a company active in freight forwarding for over a century. The company has a unique network if subsidiaries spread out all over Central and East Africa. The original function of the forwarder, or spediteur, was to arrange for the carriage of the customers’ goods by contracting with various carriers. In modern times the forwarder still carries out those same responsibilities for his client. He still operates either with a corresponding agent overseas or with his own company branch-office and in many instances, the freight forwarder also acts as a carrier for part of a movement. As Managing Director of AMI Middle East LLC Mr. Hachez oversees the company’s development. Today, everyone is into growth. This relationship comes first with AMI Middle East LLC and this is why they dedicate themselves in offering personalized service to each and every one of their customers.
Where did Vincent Hachez come from? This is a good question. His surname has German roots, but does Mr. Hachez have German roots? He chose to go to Belgium for his higher education. The Universitaire Faculteiten Sint Ignatius (Jesuit University of Antwerp), now known as Universiteit Antwerpen is characterized by its high standards in education, internationally competitive research and entrepreneurial approach. Mr. Hachez obtained his Masters Degree in Business at this university. These days he calls Dubai home. Who wouldn’t want to call a place that enjoys year-round subtropical sunshine and is known as a city of festivals home? He has a full home life with his wife Choksi Suzie, and their three children: Anthony, Amaury, and Chloe. Mr. Hachez has a balance of the contemplative and active in his non working hours.
